Meatless Monday Recipe
Let's talk about one of my favorite fall short cuts....puff pastry! I love using puff pastry during the fall season for both savory and sweet dishes. I use it as a base for tomato tarts, as a topping for vegetable pot pie, and as a base for vegan quiche which I will be sharing the recipe for below. I also love to take raspberries from my garden that I froze in summer and make a raspberry strudel! The recipes I am sharing today are both straight from the internet from food bloggers I love and use the recipes of regularly. Sometimes you just need some short cuts to get dinner on the table!
But is puff pastry actually vegan? Pepperidge Farms puff pastry is debatable. It is not certified vegan but it contains no butter or egg. The questionable ingredient is mono- and diglycerides because they could be derived from animals or plants but Pepperidge Farms does not specify. Trader Joe's brand puff pastry is certified vegan and the ingredients are much cleaner. I honestly use both!

Thank you to our community for coming out to Art in the Park and helping us to sell out! It was awesome meeting some folks that have been ordering from my website but I never had the pleasure of meeting. My new Vanilla Bean Fresh Fig Sourdough Boule was such a big hit I have added it to my website under "Seasonal". I also added my Candy Coated Chocolate Cookies(my vegan version of M&M cookies) to the "Treats" section of my website. I am pondering doing mini loaf "flights" with some of my new flavors. What do you think????
